JKScientists started as a Facebook group in 2011 but was officially registered in the summer of 2020.
JKScientists’ biggest strength is its team, who shares the passion of giving back to the community and has come together with their varied experiences to ensure they strive to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision while upholding its values.
JKScientists will strengthen the community by diffusion of knowledge, imparting skills, and creating new opportunities by  transforming the pedagogy in the field of science with innovative methods of mentorship, scientific and career outreach from school to university level, and bringing in the culture of tech start-ups which collectively will lead to the growth of skilled workers and prepares them to deliver their best locally and globally.

Our organization is global, to our knowledge JKScientists is the first of its kind in the region to have members from all around the globe. 
Our mission is to strengthen our student community by diffusion of knowledge, imparting skills through outreach and mentorship, and creating new opportunities from the school to the university level. JKScientists organization is a strong supporter of diversity in science and education and we specifically put more emphasis and efforts to promote and support women in science. Over the years we aim to contribute towards helping the educators of Jammu and Kashmir to implement scientific and curiosity-based teaching methods in the classroom. We are advocating for science and education in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. 
The realization of a group of young scientists and scholars that it is their Social Responsibility to give back to society laid the inception of JK Scientists. The team is a blend of experienced scientists, academicians, and enthusiastic freshers, all in sync with the organization's core values that drive individual thought and action. JK Scientists is managed professionally by Core Members, comprising individuals from diverse backgrounds and expertise, followed by coordinators.
JK Scientists has been working in the thematic areas of Outreach, Mentorship, and awareness.
Education alone has the power to liberate people from the vicious cycle of distress and underdevelopment. Thus, empowering individuals and mentoring them to fulfill their academic aspirations.
Around 50% of the funding support of the organization comes from its core members; the rest comes from individual donors.
As soon as the donations are made, the amount is allotted to the specific program, like soft loans to the students who face temporary monetary issues, helping with study material, and travel/fee expenses to those who come from poor backgrounds. The utilization and results are managed and monitored. The outcome is reflected in the annual impact report shared with the donors. members; the rest comes from individual donors.
Every penny will have a long-lasting impact.
The student community, particularly from Jammu and Kashmir, are the target groups of JKScientists.
More than 500 students have benefited directly from the JKScientists program since 2011. Apart from those, 210 students were helped financially to meet their academic expenses during the communication breakdown in the valley and the Covid-19 pandemic
Students studying at different levels like undergrads, Masters, graduates, and even posts, are the target groups of our programs.
JKScientist can mentor you for a particular scholarship/fellowship, but you’ll have to be proactive and know your interests.
No, we can polish your interview skills, but we cannot search for jobs for you.
