The JKScientists is a non-profit organization fostering science and education among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. A brainchild of Dr. Syed Mubarak Hussain, JKScientists has been active for over a decade and was recently registered as a non-profit organization under 501(c)(3) EIN (85-2367251) in the USA. The most unique feature of the JKScientists is that it is run solely by active scientists who are driven by a mission to foster scientific temperament among Kashmiri youth, particularly those coming from underprivileged and underrepresented backgrounds. JKScientist’s biggest strength is its team, who shares the passion of giving back to the community and has come together with their varied experiences to ensure they strive to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision while upholding its values. The team is a blend of experienced scientists, academicians, and enthusiastic freshers, all in sync with the organization's core values that drive individual thought and action. JKScientists is fortunate to have some of the brightest minds living in different parts of the world working towards empowering and changing the lives of our next generation. If we have been able to impact students' lives since the inception of JKScientists, it is primarily because of the people who have made it happen through their dedication and expertise. Today we are one of the most reputed Non-Governmental Organisations in Kashmir, providing avenues for scientific training, mentoring, and outreach. Through various mentoring, counseling, and outreach programs, JKScientists has impacted hundreds of students thus far. Most people have been accepted into reputed schools for graduate programs, postdoc programs, and even faculty positions. JKScientists is a 24x7 counseling and mentoring platform through the Facebook group, with over 13000 members.
