Umer Saleem Bhat hails from Shalteng, Srinagar. Umer completed his masters in Biotechnology from the University of Kashmir and presently he is pursuing Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali under the supervision Dr. Kavita Babu at IISc Bangalore. Umer’s research focuses on role of neuropeptides in regulating locomotion during stress conditions like starvation using Caenorhabditis elegans as the model system.
