Dr. Ahsan Ul Haq Qurashi is born and raised in village Dildar of Tehsil Karnah, District Kupwara, Jammu, and Kashmir. After earning his Ph.D. from Jeonbuk National University in 2008, he completed two years post-doctoral fellowship at Toyama University, Toyama Japan, under the Venture Business Laboratory (VBL) program. He joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as Assistant Professor of Chemistry in 2010. In 2016, he was promoted to Associate Professor. He moved to Khalifa University Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2019. Ahsan is a nanotechnologist by training and his group’s main research interests are the development of new materials, novel methods, and understanding their structure-property relationship through advanced characterization focusing on clean energy generation and storage, catalysis, sensors, and biomedical applications. Ahsan strongly advocates science outreach among underprivileged society. He is passionately involved in counseling and mentoring the young generation for science education for the last 13 years. He supervised various BS, MS, and Ph.D. students as faculty. Other than science and education, he loves trekking, traveling, and sports such as Cricket (allrounder), Badminton, and Table Tennis.
